Hot
dip galvanization
STANDARDS
USED (CSA G.164 M 1981 & ASTM A-153)
Hot
dip galvanization is a unique method that consists of applying multiple
layers of liquid zinc (melted at very high temperature) to protect the metal
against oxidation and corrosion. To achieve this complex operation, the zinc
that Ancrabec uses is 99,9% pure.
The
thickness of the layering is measured with sophisticated magnetic and electronic
machinery. The measurement is determined accordingly with the CSA G-164 standard
or any other standard (American, European, …)
Packaging, Handling and
Stocking
The
anchor bolts are packaged in a round pack of approximately 16 inches of diameter.
Each package is attached with three galvanized metal straps to assure maximum
protection of your anchor bolts.
Handling
of your anchor bolts should be done as precisely and carefully as possible. We
suggest you to use mostly (or when possible) nylon cable attachments which is
the same method used at Ancrabec to handle our anchor bolts.
Ideally,
storage of anchor bolts should be done in a way to prevent the products to be in
contact with humid and wet surfaces. So, to assure longevity to our products and
eliminate the risks of rust stains on the galvanized sections of your anchors
and bolts, we strongly suggest to higher the galvanized section of your anchor
bolts
